2004 Elliott Reunion The 2004 reunion was a lot of fun, meeting, remembering, smiling and laughing. We were happy that Frank Kelley and Howard Elliott were on hand to scramble eggs and fry country ham as in years past. Aurie Elliott usually makes the biscuits. This year she was understandably missing at breakfast (She wasn't back from Lake Junaluska, attending a memorial for those Methodist ministers that had passed away during the last year.) We had nice weather for the afternoon, a little cooler that the day before. It was good to see that the crowd for this 60th annual reunion was large. Marie Elliott McClure, our Permanent Historian, gave her report, recognizing several branches that turned out in number. The descendants of Vance and Maybell Elliott really turned out and it was so good to see them! This year we also had super participation by the descendants of John Wesley Elliott and Agness (Pettus) Elliott. John and Agness had six children. Those attending from this line included Mary Bell (Elliott) Turner, honored as the eldest woman in attendance. Barbara (Elliott) Witherspoon and her sister Cindy Elliott, who are the Reunion co-Presidents are great grands of John and Agness. Most exciting was meeting Evelyn (Elliott) Waltz and her daughter, Melody Callahan. Evelyn is the daughter of Clarence Elliott and Bertha Cordelia Lawing Elliott. Melody came all the way from New Zealand to be with her Mother at our Reunion. Frank Kelley was our oldest gentleman. He is 90 years old. We had several babies attending their first Reunion.
